This morning, the children found an impressive layout of the decanomial beads. The beads built the multiplication tables. It depicted the geometry of multiplication, forming rectangles and squares. After reviewing the facts, we made exchanges and created the squares of the numbers 1 – 10. We then stacked these squares creating the cubes of those numbers and constructed a tower with the cubes. It is an awesome, magical lesson.
