We had a very eventful day today. We had a fire drill first thing. The children did an excellent job evacuating the building, going to our meeting place and arranging themselves to respond when the role was called. The firefighters complemented them profusely.

At group time we looked at fish. We learned that there are three types of fish: jawless fish (lamprey eel), cartilagenous fish (shark) and bony fish (goldfish). We looked at the flounder and talked about adaptation when we saw that both its eyes are on the same side of its head. The students are excited about zoology.

It was such a lovely day we decided to spend a little extra time on the playground and to have lunch al fresco. We picnicked on the deck. We had a wonderful day at school today!
