About this event:

Created by susanharper

This morning we talked about the earth’s surface being either land or water. We defined continents and oceans. After reviewing Ms. Yvonne’s experiment from yesterday afternoon there was a discussion about buoyancy and the difference between salt water (ocean) and fresh water (rivers, lakes, etc.) Students named some animals that live in salt water, fresh water or that spend parts of their lives in both.

The younger students painted maps of the earth with glue on the land and sprinkled them with sand, then painted the water blue. Older students are tracing the world puzzle map. They will be labeling the oceans and continents after coloring them beautifully.
