The students were presented with cultural materials to study the geography and flags of South America. We also looked at musical instruments of Latin America, including some actual instruments we have in the classroom. ‘Ms. Yvonne introduced the Olympic Games to the students as the summer games will be held in Brazil in August. She gave a short history of the games and talked about the symbolism of the Olympic flag and explained the spirit of the games, one of peace, fellowship and friendly competition.
