After art today the students enjoyed sampling the blueberry cobbler they prepared yesterday afternoon. We watched a TEDed video on “How does a jellyfish Sting?” The students had jelly fish experiences to share and we learned several interesting facts that we will discuss again tomorrow. We learned that jellyfish are soft because they are 95% water and mostly made of a jello like subatance called mesiglea. One student identified a “Lionsmain” jellyfish and learned that this particular species can extend 100 feet (longer than a bluewhale). Some students seemed scared of the fact that jellyfish sting but also could see they play an important role in the ocean food chain that Ms. Susan talked about last week.

During our late afternoon some of the children enjoyed brainstorming and building their very own aqueduct to transport water to the garden. Mr. Charlie was right there with the children discussing and planning a most effecient way to build the aqueduct with materials available on the playground!
