We discussed what an invertebrate is and different invertebrates that live in the ocean. We talked about mollusks, crustaceans, and Echinoderms. I introduced a classification work for students to use sorting pictures of these animals. We have a large collection of sea creatures and I shared a few with them this morning: starfish, sand dollar, coral, whelk shell. They enjoyed looking at the specimens even though they are smelly.
