Using maps of Africa, we will look at the desertous northern part of the continent, the Sahara Desert.
We defined what a desert is and discussed whether people, animals or plants live in the desert. We learned that the Sahara Desert is bigger than the United States of America, at over 3 million square miles. We learned that deserted have seasons and that daily temperatures can range from 100 degrees F.during the day to 25 degrees F. at night.
