Town Creek Park

This morning we traveled to Town Creek Park to have a scavenger hunt and look for animals in the pond. We walked around the edge of the pond, at the water’s edge, and saw many animals. We saw thousands of tiny frogs and toads on the bank, tiny fish and tadpoles and swimming insects. There were dragonflies buzzing over the surface of the water. We came upon a large red slider sunning itself on the bank. From the pavilion we could see many turtles and larger fish swimming around. A woman was throwing bread to them so they came very close. We saw a large soft shelled turtle. We also observed students running laps around the pond.  Once we were finished with the scavenger hunt, everyone headed to the playground area for snack and some games.  The children, teachers and parents enjoyed one another playing the balls and parachute.
